The Society of Lies

Thought for your day #21, Sat 9/16/00.

Not "real" in the absolute sense.  

Gravity is real......it does not require anyone's involvement or energy to support or sustain it.

The earth is real.

So is the sun, the moon, tree, rivers, rocks......

But not so with the social order.  That "world" that we inhabit is a shared fantasy, sustained and maintained only by the strength of those people willing to support it.

Like to gods of Greek mythology, our social order is only as "real" as the number of people willing to spend their time propagating it, multiplied by the intensity with which they do it.

And our social order, at its root and foundation, boiled down to it base components, is made out of one thing.

Just like all food, whether it be Spanish or Indian or Chinese or American or whatever all boils down to a collection of carbohydrates, proteins and sugars, so too our social order is primarily composed of one element.

And that element is The Lie.  Call it delusion, call it propaganda, call it a misunderstanding, it amounts to the same thing:  

The world does not have to be this way.  We live in a world of lies.

Lie: "The Federal Reserve Board" is a part of the U.S. Government  Truth: The Federal Reserve Board is a private bank.  Has never been, and can never be, supervised or audited by The Congress.

Lie: "Social Security Trust Fund"  Truth: It doesn't exist.  Never has.  There is not even one dollar of Social Security Taxes saved in any account anywhere.  The entire structure is a pyramid scheme requiring greater dollars from future contributors in order to survive.  If the Federal Government wasn't running it, it would be illegal.

Lie: "Television does not hurt children."  Truth: Staring at the 30 times-per-second strobe light for 8 hours a day has been proven over and over to make children incapable of abstract thinking..

Lie: "Isn't she pretty."  Truth: The media searches the planet for the .000001% "most beautiful people"....bodies, faces...Then it gives them professional makeup & wardrobe, airbrushes their images, superimposes a "better" voice to match the face, and call it "reality."  14 year old girls (and boys) see these images and wonder "what is wrong with them...." 15 year olds  getting implants....injecting steroids.....with anorexia.

Lie: "The Brady Bunch", where everyone gets along just fine, and every problem is resolved in less than 20 minutes.  Truth: This image, so innocent, has caused immeasurable pain by creating false and unrealistic expectations in the minds of millions...."Why can't we just be like the Brady Bunch?!?"

Lie: August 2000 Al Gore said "It is time for medical decisions to be put back in the hands of doctors, and not insurance companies."  Truth: Starting 7 years earlier Al Gore worked to try to socialize all American medicine.......One seventh of the entire US economy under direct Federal control.  What he evidently really meant to say was "It is time for medical decisions to be put back in the hands of Federal Bureaucrats..."

Lie: "This car will make you popular with girls."  Truth: This car has been specially engineered, with billions of dollars of research, to fall apart within months of the time you finish paying for it.  And the faulty tires that have killed so many are not our fault....We thought all the internal memos so many years ago were wrong.

Lie: "I never had sex with that woman."  Truth: Really?

Lie: "We need to get every student connected to the internet."  Truth: Oh Dear God......We now have students downloading their papers by the thousands, printing them on color lasers, and getting graded for the effort....This does not constitute education.

Lie: "Without a hospital delivering mothers will die."  Truth: Hospital births have been repeatedly shown to be 6 times more fatal than mid-wife homebirths.

Lie: "The War on Drugs."  Truth: Ever walked thorough a drug store?

Lie: "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's."  Truth: Oops....I'm repeating myself.....

Lie: From the Lutheran Catechism: "So, what is God's name?  God is God's name."  Truth: God is Not God's Name.

Lie: "Daycare for every child."  Truth: They need to be with their mothers.

Lie: "Gentle Jesus meek and mild."  Truth: Took a metal-barbed cord to those who polluted YHWH's Temple.

Oh well......Of course I could go on and on......So could you.  The point is that we literally live, breathe and swim in an entire ocean full of lies.  And it does not have to be this way.

The point?  The moral of the story?  

"Know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
